This dinosaur is now considered to be a junior synonym of Allosaurus.
The type material consist of a lower jaw that was damaged during
the life of the animal, possibly the result of an injury (perhaps
a fight with another theropod?) or from a fall. The lower jaw was
found in sedimentary deposits that represent the “Jurassic
downstream” part of the rock sequence from which our mounted
specimen of Allosaurus came. Our Allosaurus also suffered an injury
during its lifetime and does not have the corresponding part of
its lower jaw, so it is possible that Labrosaurus really belongs
to our specimen of Allosaurus!
