skeleton of Cotylorhynchus romeri, a herbivorous
pelycosaur. Cotylorhynchus had very small
skulls, relative to their 3-meter length, and a
hugely expanded rib cage with short limbs. They
were probably aquatic or semi-aquatic plant eaters.
