| A grant from the National Museum of Natural History allowed us to begin professional conservation treatment on two of our most at risk pieces of art. These illustrations of dinosaurs were prepared in the late 19th century. The illustration on the left is the first skeletal restoration of the dinosaur Stegosaurus. The illustration on the right is a life size illustration of a vertebra of the dinosaur named Brontosaurus by O.C. Marsh. In these photos paper conservator, Nora Lockshin, is testing materials prior to recommending treatment of the art. |
