| Mollusks This beautiful example of pen and ink stipple drawings of mollusks was found in the drawers containing archival materials of Charles Doolittle Walcott (1850-1927). The illustrations may have been prepared by Fielding Bradford Meek (1817 - 1876), the first scientist in residence at the Smithsonian and an excellent illustrator (personal communication, Ellis Yochelson, 2004). |
