24 pen and ink drawings of shells in one figure

Mollusks
This beautiful example of pen and ink stipple drawings of mollusks was found in the drawers containing archival materials of Charles Doolittle Walcott (1850-1927). The illustrations may have been prepared by Fielding Bradford Meek (1817 - 1876), the first scientist in residence at the Smithsonian and an excellent illustrator (personal communication, Ellis Yochelson, 2004).
